Frequently asked questions
How long is a visit to the Brancacci Chapel?
Up to 30 minutes. The chapel admits groups of up to 30 people for a maximum of 30 minutes, at the half-hour entry time printed on your ticket.
Do I need to book the Brancacci Chapel in advance?
Yes, in practice. Every visitor needs a dated, timed ticket, including those who enter free. Groups are capped at 30, so popular half hours fill.
How far ahead can I book?
The museum releases dates in blocks; in October 2026 dates to 31 December 2026 were on sale and 2027 was not yet released. For a date not yet on sale, hold it on our waiting list without paying and we book it when it opens.
Can I visit on the first Sunday of the month?
Not through us. The museum does not sell the first Sunday of each month online, so those dates are closed in our calendar.
Why does the weekend ticket include another museum?
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the museum sells only a combined ticket with the Fondazione Salvatore Romano, by Santo Spirito. You choose the chapel time; the Fondazione can be seen any time it is open that day.
When is the chapel open?
Every day except Tuesday: Monday and Wednesday to Saturday 10:00–17:00, Sunday 13:00–17:00. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing. It also closes on 1 and 7 January, Easter Sunday, 16 July, 15 August and 25 December.
Do children need a ticket?
Under 18s enter free with ID but still need an entry time. Tell us their ages at checkout and we add them to your booking at no charge. Children under 12 must come with an adult.
Who can use the 18–25 fare?
Visitors aged 18 to 25 with ID showing their age, and university students of any age with a current enrolment certificate. The document is checked with your ticket at the gate.
Can I change or cancel my ticket?
No. Tickets are issued in your name for one date and half hour, and the museum does not change or cancel them once booked. Please book a date you are sure of.
Where do I go when I arrive?
To the museum entrance in the cloister at Piazza del Carmine 14, beside the church. Go straight to the gate rather than the ticket desk and show your e-ticket.
What will I see inside?
The frescoed Stories of St Peter by Masolino, Masaccio and Filippino Lippi, including Masaccio's Tribute Money and Expulsion from the Garden of Eden, and the 13th-century Madonna del Popolo on the altar.
Is the Brancacci Chapel the same as the Carmine church?
It sits inside Santa Maria del Carmine, in the transept, but the chapel is visited as a museum with its own entrance through the cloister and its own timed ticket.
Is there an audio guide?
Not at present. The museum's multimedia guide rental is suspended. Our free guides to the frescoes on this site work well read on your phone beforehand.
Is the chapel accessible?
The museum lists it as accessible. Disabled visitors and one companion enter free with priority access; write to us before booking and we will arrange the reservation with you.
Can I bring my dog?
Only guide dogs and certified assistance dogs are admitted, and the museums ask to be told at least 15 days in advance.
How do I get to the Brancacci Chapel?
It is in the Oltrarno, on Piazza del Carmine: about 15 minutes on foot from Ponte Vecchio and about 20 from Santa Maria Novella station by Ponte alla Carraia.
Who are you?
An independent booking service. We are not the chapel or the Musei Civici Fiorentini. We book your entry time in your name on the museums' system and email you the e-ticket; our price includes that service.
Is a Firenzecard accepted?
Firenzecard holders still need a free timed ticket from the museum to enter. Our fares are for visitors buying entry; if you hold a card, you do not need to book through us.
